I had to take it back old school today with the way I took these pics in the portable studio. The colors are to vivid to have just taken pics out in the gloomy weather we had here in SoFlo.
To start off, No Luck Charms were created to be a minimal carry, and a backup to a backup... or a primary means given the situation. The design of the Charm, though simple, allows the user to deploy it from a pocket in ANY orientation that it lay, employ it using ANY finger, and then repositioned if needed. The rounded bottom coupled with the "hips" and finger insets ensure not only a solid but anatomically correct grasp in any hold.
This No Luck Charm comes from a custom made block of Kaotic Artworks resin. If you're not familiar with his work, Justin (KA) is known for his funky mix of colors within a strong resin body... all without mudding everything together! After a few people reached out over the years about doing a block with all the colors of the rainbow in one mix, I knew it had to be done.
Though you can get a few pieces from one block, no product will ever be the same. That's one of the special things about Kaotic Artworks... but that's not all...
If you noted the title of this piece, it says "Burnt End". We all know the burnt ends of the roast are always the most flavorful, and the bottom of a pour is no different! On top of that, the burnt ends are limited, and so are these. The most I can get from any block is two, and I usually keep one of them. I actually used to cut these off and throw them away until I realized just how cool of an effect the bottom has when it is sanded and polished.
The "Burnt End" side will have what almost appear to be "veins" that are translucent in nature, and sometimes with a bit of color. The depth on these areas are crazy insane, and if you've ever seen one up close, you'd find yourself holding it closely to your eye just to inspect all of the details... only to discover more.
Bright Orange, Blue, Green, Yellow, White, and a Vibrant Purple are all showcased within this piece! The finger stall is an industry standard 1" with a slight elliptical shape to the bottom. It has been precision machined to my specifications by the talented Black Cross Ltd and then hand sanded through a series of grits to really fine tune... all before spending an enormous amount of time polishing it.
Both No Luck Charm and bead come from the same block. Each face of the NLC feature my OG (original) logo, while the bead simply has three (3) grooves.
