QUICK TAKE: HOUIN X WINKLER KNIVES X FIELD ETHOS BOCOTE SWEET T

QUICK TAKE: HOUIN X WINKLER KNIVES X FIELD ETHOS BOCOTE SWEET T

"Let's have a three way... collaboration" is how the conversation behind this new knife must have started like. This iteration of the Sweet T is quite the handsome piece with its blacked-out 80CRV2 blade and exquisitely crafted Bocote wood handle. I have never been a big fixed blade guy and I am not starting now, but the Sweet T makes a compelling argument. The finishing and detail work on this piece makes quite the case for making it an everyday carry staple and it should be for those who carry fixies. This specific iteration seems to be a more lighthearted example. All the Sweet T pieces I have had in the past have had blacked out handles or darker wood options but the use of the Bocote wood in the handles seems a little more optimistic. Before getting this knife, I had no idea what Bocote wood even was but now I know. Bocote is an exotic hardwood from the Corida species. It is found in Central America and Mexico primarily and known for its dramatic and contrasty striping and grain. The striping is very pronounced on this piece and makes for a striking contrast to the black 3.5" drop point blade. Apparently the production on these was very limited so snag them up while you can.
