DEMKO SAID "BIGGIE SIZE IT" - THE XXX AD20

Having been a long time of customer Demko, I have had some extensive interactions with their product line throughout the years. Their slim and full-size models already felt like big knives to me. At no point did I ever consider the slight possibility that they could get even bigger. (Spoiler alert: they could in fact get WAY bigger). The AD20 XXX model name doesn't refer to any explicit innuendos but refers to the fact that these knives would have to shop at a specialty store to fit its large frame. Demko compares their Full Size AD20 to a flagship, referring to its prominence in their MG line. If the Full Size is a flagship then the XXX is a battleship. This knife comes in at a hefty 10.5 ounces. You cannot put this knife in gym shorts without a self-induced pantsing. Once you pick your shorts up off your ankles, you'll notice the .25-inch blade being house between .125-inch titanium scales. This brings the overall thickness at the handle to a full half inch wide with a 5.5-inch length. The two designs they have are patterns that any regular customer of Demko will recognize: the textured and the smooth titanium handle scales. Both have a nice hand feel which is nice for everyday usage but I feel like it has the possibility of slipping out of the hand in wetter conditions. The heft and smooth surface may lead to some broken toes as it may compulsively slide off surfaces. Steel toe boots may come in handy to prevent trips to the hospital or pediatrist. Once deployed, the full length of the XXX comes in at 9.5 inches. The blade is a CPM 3V blade with dual thumb studs for ambidextrous use cases. The two examples we got in were their "Stud Only" configuration. The Stud Only is only differentiated by its lack of a slot cutout on the blade; you wouldn't need a slot with the grippy thumb studs provided. Once done with your cutting needs, the Shark Lock sliding tab on the spine pull back and unlocks the blade so it can be closed. Is the Demo XXX for you? If you're Bigfoot or really interested in unique knives then the answer is a resounding yes.
